BMP sold at which retail outlets? - Guild Wars Forums

Well the BMP comes out tomorrow and while I know it's available in the online store, Anet has made no mention of what retail stores it will be sold in (they did confirm it was being sold in stores). So does anyone know which stores we can get it at?

I'm hoping Target or Bestbuy, but I think the rest of us are in the dark just as much as you. I guess we'll just wait for another 1 hour and 51 minutes...

Pretty sure they said it wouldn't be sold physically in the retail stores, but online through different retail stores (for example through best buy's website).

Well i dunno whats going on then but its not appearing in my online store & ive heard nothing about it being sold in game stores either...

Did you find a link to online retailers in North America? I didn't. All I found outside of PlayNC and Ingame stores was online retailers for international users. Would you please provide a link to NA online retailers.

Great, nowhere to purchase it in the UK then apart from that dodgy French site There's no way I'm giving them any of my details becasue two of my mates have already lost ??70 by dealing with them. Didn't ANet do any sort of research into this when they decided to make the BMP widelg available?

Its not so hard for people in america to go to wally world, a bank or where ever and get a pre paid credit card and buy it thought the online store. I think the whole retail deal was because majority of the euro's don't have the options of pre paid cards such as the US does.

And for Americans like me who refuse to buy software online. I want a Box, and a Disk, and a receipt. Im not buying something i have to download.

You didn't actually think Anet would release this in stores... It would be a guarenteed money sink for them and from what i've heard they can't afford to lose any more money.

I would suggest you move with the times then. Buying online is the way most games are going to go in the future.

Umm, actually i did. Seeing that the BMP was quoted as being a limited time only promotion, and only to players who bought from the online store. It seems to me Anet didnt sell anywhere near what they had hoped to sell, and are trying to sell it again, whilst seriously disturbing the players who spent 30 bucks in the ingame store.

Seing as everyone uses the same GW client you already have downloaded the BMP. You will be paying for the access code itself.

Your box/CD for any of your guild wars games is in no way a proof of ownership, only the access code counts.

Huh? Are you suggesting that the previous players paid $30 for the BMP?

ANet hadn't sold any until Jan 28.... They're not trying to sell it "again" - they're selling it for the first time.

BTW - how much does it cost in the on-line store? It just says "already purchased" for me, and doesn't give a price.

Americans like you just won't buy it then. You want a box containing nothing but a piece of paper with an access key on it?
There would be no CD - you already have all the "software" on your computer now.

It would be equivalent to wanting a box and CD with the purchase of movie tickets or a bus pass. I suppose you'd want a really big box with a bus-seat in it.

(Btw , you do get a "receipt" when you buy stuff from the on-line store.)

No.
I want the ability to reinstall GW to another computer in 10 min, not have to dowload Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, Gwen. If i had to download all those, it could take days. I can set up Guildwars on another computer in minuetts.
Thats the primary reason i dont purchase online software. I want something tangable for my money. Plus i collect the boxes.

I cant even fathom how long it would take to download a Greyhound Bus..lol
